In 1997, W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company introduced an entirely new knife pattern that took the Case Collector world by storm. That knife, was the CopperLock®. Designed by Case Legend Tommy Hart, the CopperLock combined elements from the classic Trapper ('54) pattern and Copperhead ('49) pattern to make a new Lockback knife. The unique pattern number (549L) was chosen by Case Historian Shirley Boser. With a fully locking Tru-Sharp" surgical steel blade, it has the cutting power of a Lockback knife, with the look and feel of a traditional Case pocket knife. As the first new Case knife introduced by the company in many years, the CopperLock was an immediate hit, and remains an integral part of the line today.
